Taking to his official Twitter handle, Mutua pleaded with artistes not to do weird things to please their fans.
He said artistes are at liberty to do whatever pleases their fans if they are paying their bills.
Mutua also cautioned the artistes against pleasing faceless characters on social media if it hurts their brand and reputation.
"Artistes please do not do weird things to please fans, unless they are paying your bills. Do not let faceless characters on social media push you to satisfy them with content if it hurts your brand. Ask yourself if 20 years to come, you will be happy with what you are doing now!" Mutua wrote.

Mutua's remarks appeared to be a direct attack on melodramatic Kisii gospel artiste Chris Musioma better known as Embarambamba whose new wave of energy in the latest productions has left many longing for his dramatic content.
On Wednesday, April 14, Mutua expressed worry about Embarambamba's baffling dance moves since he is now a conversation starter across the country. His new entertainment gems had gone viral on social media.

According to Mutua who many refer to as the moral police, Embarambamba is a danger to himself and that his fans could be cheering him to self-destruction.
Mutua also questioned whether Embarambamba's mode of dancing style is sustainable in this age and era or even sane expressing worry that the 33-year-old might get injured while entertaining his fans.
"I must say that I have a feeling that Embarambamba is a danger to himself and that his fans could be cheering him to self-destruction. Is this style sustainable? Is it even sane? Unless he is superhuman, this guy will hurt himself. Someone, please stop him!" Mutua exclaimed.

One fan, however, pleaded with Mutua not to kill Embarambamba’s dream arguing that the artiste is sane in real life.
“I have listened to his interviews and he sounds great, but his theatrics border on absurdity,” Mutua fired back at the fan.
In one of his controversial videos, the gospel singer is filmed running across a leafy garden and at one point, jumps on top of a horrified cow.
The scared cow proceeds to throw him off its back before taking off in a different direction.
Embarambamba has been filmed in other videos throwing himself in the mud while donning colourful suits.
While some of his antics have provoked the launch of a petition calling for him to be banned from performing such aerobatics, the witty relief that comes with Embarambamba's tunes continues to stimulate mixed reactions from a section of Kenyans.
The petition from Nguzo Africa on behalf of concerned Kenyans pleads with relevant authorities to stop him from performing the strange aerobatics that they argue may be aped by children or rather affect his well-being, fans, and the environment.
Even so, fans love Embarambamba's songs for their entertaining content and unimaginable dance moves.
