MP Sankok Set to Table Bill Compelling Kenyans to Wear Green Attire Every Monday, Friday
- Nominated MP David Ole Sankok said he will table a bill that proposes all sportsmen and women should adopt green attire as their uniforms
- He also suggested that all receptionists of ministries, government agencies among others to put on green attire every day while at work
- According to him, this will promote patriotism and environmental conservation

Kenyans could soon start wearing green attires every Monday and Friday and on public holidays if a new bill is approved in parliament.

The bill is set to be tabled in the national assembly in the next one month by jubilee nominated MP David Ole Sankok.
It proposes that Kenyans will have to put on green attires every Monday and Friday and on public holidays to symbolise the country's patriotism.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke in an exclusive interview on Saturday, 24 July, Sankok said it was the right time for him to make his green uniform the Kenya national dress cord.

According to him, this will promote patriotism and environmental conservation.

"Think of green colour and imagine happy people living in harmony with mother nature; we have to show the world that Kenya is green through our attire," Sankok said.
In the bill, Sankok has also proposed that all sportsmen and women should adopt green attire as their uniforms.
He further added that all receptionists of ministries, departments, agencies of government and all embassy officials put on green attire every day while at work.
"Am also proposing that all receptionists of hotels and lodges wear it all the time they are at the work reception desk, and also those working in ministries and agencies of government," he added.

Green uniform adopted in schools
The nominated MP further said that the bill would also see students adopting the new mode of dressing code as Physical Education (PE) and games kits.
The lawmaker has been embracing the green attire for some time now. In public functions and the national assembly, he has been spotted putting on green attires.
It will be interesting to see the bill tabled in parliament for debate from other lawmakers.
