KRA announced the extension of the deadline from June 30 to July 1, 2025, following a widespread downtime in the iTax system.

The taxman also extended the working hours for the customer care desk until midnight on Monday, June 30, to ease responses to taxpayers' questions.

The authority added that all assistance channels would remain open up to the end of the exercise.

What to know about KRA tax systems

  • The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has also announced a new and simplified Pay As You Earn (PAYE) tax filing process set to take effect from July 1, 2025.
  • President William Ruto's administration tasked the taxman with a mandate to collect KSh 3.316 trillion in the financial year starting July 1, 2025, which will support the budget.

KRA deadline for fuel station eTIMS

Meanwhile, the authority demanded that all fuel station outlets across the country implement the Electronic Tax Invoice Management System (eTIMS) Fuel Station System by June 30, 2025.

KRA advised fuel station owners that they can choose to integrate by themselves where there is technical capacity or work with a KRA-certified fuel solution integrator.

The taxman said the initiative aims to enhance transparency, streamline tax compliance, and ensure accurate reporting of fuel sales.
