The institution located at the Konza Technopolis, Kenya's smart city, is a postgraduate-only public university that was established in 2021 to meet the shortage of highly skilled engineers needed in the country and the region to drive Kenya into an industrialised nation by 2030.

"The Kenya-AIST is seeking competent and self-motivated individuals with high aspirations, the expertise and experience needed to contribute to the institute's growth and development. Successful applicants will join a community of researchers and innovators and play a significant role in the future of Kenya-AIST," read the job advert by the institution.
