Business ideas in Kenya

Kenyans are always quick to share business ideas with their fellow countrymen.

In March 2025, a man sought advice from an online forum on the type of businesses one can start with an initial capital of KSh 300,000.

The post caught the attention of many Kenyans who shared mixed reactions and ideas, such as barber shops, emphasising the need for active management and on-site presence.

They also gave alternative business ideas, including farming French beans, starting potato supply businesses and venturing into real estate agency services.

Other ideas shared included general shops, salons, grocery kiosks, mobile money agencies, car washes, second-hand clothes businesses, and food kiosks.
