The job holders will be placed at Nairobi's premier high-quality, classic restaurants with branches across the country.
"As a waiter or waitress at the restaurant, you will be the ambassador of our guest experience. Your attention to detail, polished service skills, and passion for hospitality will ensure every patron receives white-glove treatment from arrival to departure," read the NYS job advert in part.
What are the NYS job duties?
The waiters and waitresses who qualify will be responsible for:
- Warmly welcoming guests with refined hospitality
- Mastering menu knowledge to provide expert recommendations
- Anticipating guest needs with discreet, attentive service
- Presenting dishes/beverages with precision timing and elegant presentation
- Handling payments and billing with discretion and accuracy
- Maintaining pristine table setups (cutlery polishing, linen care, floral arrangements)
- Ensuring immaculate station upkeep throughout service
- Coordinating seamlessly with kitchen and bar teams
- Upholding safety and hygiene protocols to Michelin-standard
- Personalising interactions for regular clientele
- Professionally solving service recoveries when needed
- Collecting feedback to continuously elevate standards
What are the qualifications for NYS jobs?
NYS said that the individuals must have:
- Minimum of one to two years of experience in high-volume premium dining
- A certificate in food and beverage service or any other related course
- Impeccable groom and professional etiquette
- Fluency in English (additional languages advantageous)
- Micros POS system proficiency preferred
- Certification in food safety/wine knowledge - an added advantage
