NYS Announces 181 Job Vacancies for Instructors and Lecturers

The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced a public recruitment of technical instructors and lecturers scheduled to take place in September 2025.

According to the notice published by the NYS, interested and qualified candidates should complete the Application for Employment Form-PSC.2 (Revised 2016).

The completed form should be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the title of the position applied for on or before September 1, 2025.

Notably, the application should be accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae, certified copies of academic certificates, testimonials, and a copy of the national identity card or passport.

"Sealed hand-delivered applications can be dropped at the Registry - National Youth Service Headquarters, Ruaraka, Thika Road, Ground Floor. The applicants can also email their applications to: nysdhrm@gmail.com with the title of the position being applied for as the subject," NYS explained in the notice.

Which job vacancies are available at NYS?

1. Technical Instructor III CSG ‘12’ JG ‘H’

NYS is recruiting for the position of Technical Instructor III CSG ‘12’ JG ‘H’, with a salary scale ranging from KSh 28,620 to KSh 37,100.

Additionally, the position includes benefits such as house allowance, commuter allowance, and leave allowance as provided in the civil service.

The role is offered on permanent and pensionable terms of service and comes with medical cover under the SHA Scheme for Civil Servants.

The service is seeking 130 instructors for these roles across various departments.

The NYS said that candidates must have a diploma in the relevant fields, and an NYS discharge certificate will be an advantage.

2. Lecturer II, CSG 11, JG T

NYS is recruiting 13 Lecturer II officers under CSG 11, Job Group T, with a salary scale of KSh 34,420–46,120.

The positions are on permanent and pensionable terms with benefits including medical cover under the SHA Scheme for Civil Servants, as well as house, commuter, and leave allowances in line with civil service provisions.

Available vacancies include teaching positions in French, secretarial studies, business management, entrepreneurship, hospitality management, human resource management, fashion and textile design, and supply chain management, with a total of 13 posts.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field, a certificate in computer applications, and meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

3. Lecturer I, CSG 10, JG "K"

NYS is also hiring 38 Lecturer I officers under CSG 10, Job Group K, with a salary range of KSh 41,420–57,230, on the same permanent and pensionable terms with allowances and medical cover.

The positions cover a broad range of disciplines, including finance and accounting, ICT, mathematics and computing, economics and statistics, agriculture, agricultural economics, animal health science, aeronautical, civil, electrical, mechanical, and automotive engineering, architecture, quantity survey, building construction, catering and hotel management, nutrition and dietetics, marketing, industrial plant engineering, horticulture, and agricultural engineering.

Applicants must also have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field, a certificate in computer applications, and comply with Chapter Six requirements.

Job vacancies at KenTrade and BRS

In other news, the Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade) and the Business Registration Service (BRS) have announced multiple job vacancies across various departments.

KenTrade emphasised that applications must be submitted exclusively through its online recruitment portal by September 9, 2025.
