B-Live: Safaricom Launches Data Bundle Service Based on Time of Use

In an exclusive response to TUKO.co.ke, the telco said the promotion is available for all Safaricom prepay and post-pay data customers.

"We have time-based bundles. Data B-Live bundles are available on *544#, *444#, under Ofa Ya Mtaa. The promotion period is as from the July 16, 2025 to 2359hrs on October 13, 2025," said Safaricom.

How long are B-Live bundles

The bundles come in a range of one hour to six hours. For one hour, users pay KSh 20, KSh 30 (1.5 hours), KSh 50 (3 hours), KSh 60 (2 hours), KSh 75 (4.5 hours) and KSh 150 (6 hours).

The telco said customers can purchase the bundles throughout the day, worry-free.

However, the B-Live bundles cannot be shared or transferred or bought for other users.

The charges on B-Live bundles are based on how long users are connected to the network.

It can be useful for the idle time counts, heavy users can get value by doing high-data tasks like downloading files rapidly without worrying about volume limits.

This came as Safaricom made changes to its home fibre internet connection.

What are the new discounts for Safaricom fibre?

In other news, the telco reduced the price of new business fibre connections by 25% for the next two months, focusing on businesses located in fibre-ready buildings.

The move is part of Safaricom's commitment to maintain its leadership in fixed broadband while growing its presence among small and medium-sized businesses.

Safaricom boasts a 36.5% market share and serves 678,118 fixed-internet subscribers.

It said the fibre offer to the business will ensure MSMEs have access to the fastest, most reliable internet that matches their ambitions.

The changes saw the top-tier 100 Mbps package cost KSh 4,724, down from KSh 6,299, and the entry-level 15 Mbps plan cost about KSh 2,249 per month.
