How should Kenyan students prepare for interviews?

Simon Ingari, a career development associate with OYK CV Writing & Interview Coaching Services, told TUKO.co.ke that students should highlight what they did in school, including any small wins.

He advised candidates to keep their CVs short, but show that they are eager to learn.

"For interns, keep resumes brief (one page is fine), list your academic achievements, abilities, and any little wins, such as short courses, school leadership, or competitions. Demonstrate your willingness to learn and help," he explained.

Ingari also recommended that students be polite and friendly to all employees, including security guards, on the interview date.

"I have witnessed managers and directors disguise themselves and stand at the gate to watch applicants. If you are invited for a job interview, at the gate entrance or on the organisation's premises, politely greet everyone," Ingari expounded.

He furthermore noted that students should name two referees on their CVs.
