Will Gachagua pass through CBD?

Gachagua, who cut short his US trip to take part in the preparations for the looming November by-elections, is expected to land in the afternoon before leading a convoy through Nairobi’s CBD to Kamukunji grounds for a rally.

Photos and videos shared by DCP show jubilant crowds chanting, singing, and waving flags, with some supporters camping overnight at the airport to receive their leader, whom they hailed as ‘king.’

Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara and Kitui Senator Enock Wambua were among leaders spotted at JKIA.

DCP deputy leader Cleophas Malala urged supporters to show up in large numbers, warning that the government could attempt to detain the ex-DP.

Police, including GSU officers and water cannons, were strategically deployed at the airport from as early as 6am, though operations remained calm.
