In an advertisement published on its website, the county government asked job seekers to submit their academic and professional certificates by Wednesday, September 10.
How to apply for Machakos county jobs
It noted that applicants should submit their applications through the online recruitment portal.
"Applications must be received on or before September 10, 2025, by 5:00pm. Any applications tendered later than the above date and time will not be able to upload.
The county government of Machakos is an equal-opportunity employer: Women, Persons with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups are encouraged to apply," it stated.
Which vacancies did Machakos county declare?
1. Registered nurse III - 300 positions
Duties:
- Assessing planning, nursing interventions and evaluating patient outcome.
- Providing appropriate healthcare service, including Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI), immunisation, PMTC, ante-natal care and delivery.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Kenya registered community health nursing, Kenya registered nursing, Kenya Registered midwifery, or Kenya registered mental health and psychiatry.
- A valid license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
2. Enrolled nurse III - 70 positions
Duties:
- Assessing patients and clients and establishing health care needs.
- Planning and implementing nursing care interventions based on patients’/clients’ health needs.
Requirements:
- Certificate in Kenya registered community health nursing, Kenya registered nursing, Kenya Registered midwifery, or Kenya registered mental health and psychiatry.
- A valid license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.

3. Nursing officer - 30 positions
Duties:
- Providing holistic care by carrying out risk identification and assessment of an individual.
- Performing a comprehensive physical examination within various settings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or midwifery.
- A valid license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
4. Registered nurse I - 60 positions
Duties:
- Provide general nursing services and care to patients in the hospital.
- Support Medical Officers and Medical Specialists in attending to patients.
Requirements:
- A valid registration certificate from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Diploma in Kenya registered community health nursing, Kenya registered nursing, Kenya Registered midwifery, or Kenya registered mental health and psychiatry.
