The visit, which started on Wednesday, May 28, and ends on Saturday, May 31, will also include companies such as the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service.
Others include Ngong Veg, a Kenyan company specialising in the production and export of high-quality fresh vegetables, particularly to European markets.
"From May 28 to 31, 10 Kenyan companies and operators will visit Mayotte to explore business opportunities in this French overseas territory located in the Indian Ocean. During this four-day event, they will learn more about Mayotte's economy and the business opportunities it offers through sectoral presentations, site visits, B2B meetings, and a business forum. The sectors covered will be agriculture, logistics, construction, and the circular economy," said a statement from the French Embassy in Nairobi on Wednesday, May 28.
Which other companies are on the visit?
The statement added that the other firms on the visit include Arriana Exports, a Kenyan company involved in the export of agricultural products, particularly tropical fruits, vegetables, and spices.
It works with small-scale producers to give them access to international markets, focusing on quality and compliance with international standards.
Others include Masafi Fruits, a Kenyan company engaged in the cultivation, distribution, and export of tropical fruits, fresh vegetables, fruit juices, preserves, and frozen vegetables.
Alpha Group, a Kenyan conglomerate operating in maritime, logistics, and industrial services, with a strong presence in East Africa, is also among the companies visiting Mayotte.
"The companies and operators are invited by the Development and Innovation Agency of Mayotte (ADIM), a publicly sponsored agency dedicated to supporting the economic attractiveness of the territory, in collaboration with Business France, a French government-funded public firm that promotes France to foreign investors, the County of Mayotte, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), and the French Chamber of Commerce in Kenya," said the statement.
Mayotte, a French overseas territory and an outermost region of the European Union, occupies a unique position at the crossroads of East Africa and Europe.
This territory has experienced dynamic economic growth over the past decade and presents relevant opportunities for the export of goods and services from Kenya.
