The proprietors, Njiru Mkombozi, said the rebuilding process will be painful considering the estimated losses stood at over KSh 50,000 million.
"That was a painful day to me because for 38 years I have built from the ground. I started down there with KSh 2500. I was even a tailor," Njiru said as quoted on Citizen TV.
Njiru credited the reopening of the supermarket to the collaboration between the security agencies and the members of the community.
Residents returned some of the stolen goods, and others pointed out those responsible for the vandalism and looting.
"I have had to go back to the bank to get a loan and to pay back another loan that I owed. This has been a big loss to me," the proprietor added.
He called on the residents and other Kenyans, as well as the police, to help protect businesses as he looks to prioritise security in future protests and other situations.

Unlike other targeted buildings, it was not set ablaze as reported earlier on TUKO.co.ke.
Viral videos show shattered glass and empty shelves, laying bare the extent of the destruction. Njiru estimated losses at around KSh 50 million.
Speaking to NTV, he said the attack was carried out by hired goons who, despite being few in number, allegedly held secret meetings before the raid.
"Hired goons stormed the property in a violent attack. Although they were not many, reports suggest they had held secret meetings at undisclosed locations beforehand. They arrived around 9:00am, broke windows and doors, and engaged in intense back-and-forth battles with the police for nearly two hours," he narrated, as reported by NTV.

In other news, Magunas Supermarket in Makutano, Meru county, was set ablaze during violent protests on July 7, 2025, rendering over 300 locals jobless.
Local business leaders and residents claimed the perpetrators were goons brought in from outside the area with the intention to cause damage, a view echoed by MCA Caleb Mutethia, who termed the incident "economic terrorism".
Police reported that 80 suspects have been arrested, with investigations ongoing through CCTV footage.
Authorities confirmed the attackers overwhelmed security and used what appeared to be a petrol bomb to ignite the fire, with delayed and under-equipped firefighting efforts failing to contain the blaze.
