Makanga Left Speechless after Passenger Hands Him Debit Card for Fare: "There Will Be Signs"

  • A Makanga was given the test of his life after a passenger decided to joke around during transit
  • The passenger wanted to pay the fare with a debit card, something not common in matatus
  • Many who watched the clip wondered how the makanga let it slide instead of hitting back with a few angry words

A video has gone viral showing the moment a man tried to pay his fare using a debit card.

There always arises friction when passengers opt to pay their transport money using different ways of payment from those accepted, and before COVID-19, paying using M-Pesa was at times a problem.

Passenger pulls out debit card for fare payment

Well, this passenger decided to take things to a higher level after pulling out his card as the makanga demanded fare from the matatu occupants.

In the viral video, the man is spotted signalling the makanga to pick his fare as he flashes his card just a few seats away from him.

After calling him several times, the tout finally turned around only to see the passenger trying to hand him the debit card.

In a hilarious move, the tout swiftly turned his back and did not utter a word, seemingly not interested in the joker.

The matatu fell silent, with no one saying a word, perhaps unbothered by the incident or just waiting to see how it panned out.

The video went viral on Instagram, with many finding it hysterical as others shared funny experiences.

Nairobi woman gifts makanga cake

In another beautiful story, TUKO.co.ke reported how a woman identified as Purity gifted a makanga a beautiful cake for returning KSh 10,000 that she accidentally sent using M-Pesa as fare.

Purity said she noticed the money was missing in her account after going to an M-Pesa agent to withdraw only to find her account empty.

She said she called the conductor and he wanted to confirm if she was right, and after a few minutes she realised that the money had been returned.

Purity prayed that God blesses him for his good act, and after learning that he was having a birthday, she knew exactly how to reward the man.

She bought a nicely decorated cake as a 'thank you' gift, noting that people like him are hard to find.
