Were protesters playing football in the CBD?

As more people continue to pour into the capital, tension between protesters and police has been on the rise, with both sides locked in constant cat-and-mouse chases.

However, even with the growing unrest, some Kenyans took a moment to breathe, and decided to inject a bit of humour into the chaos.

In a video seen by TUKO.co.ke, a group of protestors was captured playing football right in the middle of the CBD.

The ball, at one point, got stuck on the roof of the Stanbic Bank building, prompting a man dressed as a boda boda rider to climb up and retrieve it.

Once he tossed the ball back down, the protestors erupted in cheers and began a playful game of heading the ball, trying their best to keep it from touching the ground.

The light moment sparked excitement on social media, with netizens sharing hilarious reactions to the unexpected street match.

The duo broke into anti-government anthems as they made their way to the CBD, where tensions between protesters and police were already rising.

Their vibe was contagious as passengers soon joined in clapping and singing.
