Zawadi recalled a time when her ID got lost and she had to present different certificates to prove her identity.
“I was troubled when my ID got lost. The police told me I needed to show my birth certificate, my mother’s birth certificate, and other documents to prove that I’m from Kenya because my ID didn’t look like me. I had to go to Huduma Center. They said, ‘no that photo does not look like you. They sent me back to the police station. The police had to write a report, then I went back, and I got help. Even at the airport, I get troubled. I had to change my ID," she said.
