As widely reported, Kenya Railways suspended transport from Mombasa to Nairobi on the night of Sunday, July 6, leaving many Nairobi residents stranded at the coast.
They were not allowed to access the terminus and were locked outside due to what was termed a 'technical hitch'.
Following this, many of the Gen Z in their midst claimed that it was a move by the government to ensure they did not arrive in Nairobi to participate in the Saba Saba Day commemoration.

Gen-Z delights ladies with his anti-Ruto T-shirt
During an interview with Citizen TV, a Gen-Z individual named Ben was seen wearing a T-shirt with the message, 'Kiss me if you hate Ruto'.
The young man was part of the team stranded at the station and said he got a message 30 minutes before boarding that the train was suspended.
"We were at Summertides having a good time, but apparently we got a notification from the SGR team 30 minutes before arriving here that the 10 pm train had been suspended. All of us are stranded, we don't know whether to book a bus, we don't know what is happening," he said.
He noted that the Kenya Railways team had not communicated whether they would issue refunds or offer accommodation for them for the night.
He said they were stranded and unsure of what to do next.
His T-shirt stole the show, prompting many ladies to offer him a smooch.

What happened to Gen Z Anne Kabei's job offer?
Another Gen Z, Anne Kabei, recently left Kenyans worried after sharing a farewell message, lamenting about being jobless despite her educational status.
She painfully highlighted the harsh reality of being jobless, sharing that she did not care about dying during protests.
Her video went viral just before the June 25 protests. After the protests, an advertising company shared that they were looking for her to offer her a job.
Kabei, a second-class honours graduate from Turkana county, attended an interview, but later, it was communicated to her that she wouldn't be hired.
The TikToker shared a screenshot of the email from the company after they rescinded her offer, promising to consider her in future in case of any future openings.
Since she shared the post, Kabei noted that she had not gotten any other opportunities.
Netizens sympathised with Kabei, praying for her to get better opportunities. Former musician and radio presenter Alvan comforted Kabei, saying she would get better offers in future.
