Mateo died on Sunday, July 20, after drowning in a swimming pool in Mombasa during a family holiday.

Mateo died one month after celebrating his first birthday.

Queen made an emotional plea after her son's burial.

In a video shared online by King David, the grieving mum asked for prayers and admitted that coping with grief wasn't easy.

She emotionally recalled how she carried him in her womb for nine months and even raised him for a year.

"I want to thank everyone who supported us and our baby Mateo... May you pray for us. It's not easy to lose a child. I carried him for nine months and raised him, and he had never been hospitalised. He is no more. Mateo will always be in my heart. To those who came, thank you so much. You hold a special place in my heart," she said emotionally.

King David thanks friends after burying son

On his side, King David thanked his friends who showed up for the burial.

Captioning the video, he noted that the support they received was a testament that they have a support system.

"To every friend, family member, and stranger who stood with us during the darkest days after losing our precious Prince Mateo, thank you. Your love, prayers, and support gave us strength when we had none. We may never understand why, but your kindness reminded us that we are not alone. From the deepest part of our broken hearts, thank you for walking with us through the pain. Forever grateful. Forever Mateo," he wrote.
