Chebby was hesitant since she was on family planning, but eventually took the test and found out she was pregnant.
Her doctor asked her to visit a hospital, and after several scans, she was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy.
Terence was excited to learn that his wife was pregnant, but the happiness was short-lived.
"It took me like an hour and everything turned around. When I took the test, he did not even know. The internal bleeding was so bad. I gave him the kit and he was excited. I was looking at him and I was like, I wish he knew. You were excited for real. The bleeding had started three days before. I thought it was normal cramps," she said.
"At least I thought we are not yet 40 years old we have time to take care of the child," Terence responded.

An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that occurs outside the uterus, most commonly in one of the fallopian tubes.
The fallopian tubes are not designed to hold a growing embryo, so this kind of pregnancy cannot proceed normally.
It is dangerous because, for one, it can rupture the fallopian tubes; two, it can damage reproductive organs; and three, there is no chance of survival for the embryo.
The doctor revealed that they had removed one of Chebby's left tubes.
"It was an ectopic pregnancy; she was bleeding for two to three days. She is okay. It was the left fallopian tube. Such a tube is a sick tube so we had to remove it. Just the left one. The right was okay," he said.
Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, Dr. Miriam Achieng, a Nairobi-based obstetrician and gynecologist with over 15 years of experience, emphasized the importance of early detection and immediate medical response in such cases.
“Many women confuse the early signs of an ectopic pregnancy with normal menstrual cramps or delayed periods. I always advise women that if they experience unusual abdominal pain, dizziness, or bleeding, especially while on family planning, they should seek urgent care. Early diagnosis can prevent complications, preserve fertility, and, most importantly, save lives, she told TUKO.co.ke.
