"If he were anything other than a God-fearing person, you might have compared him to a cult leader," he said, referring to the magnetic influence Edward had.
He recalled how his son had a dream and worked tirelessly to achieve it, stating that in many ways, Edward had succeeded in fulfilling his mission.
"I look at the pictures, and it almost feels like he’s just taking a bit of a rest," he said, visibly moved.
Kwach went on to reveal a poignant conversation they had just days before his son passed away.
“The Sunday before Carey passed on, I went to see him. We had a wonderful chat, but as I was leaving, I had a clear impression that his days were numbered," he said emotionally.
Though Edward's life was cut short, his father noted how much he had accomplished in his years.

He also shared a personal anecdote about a nickname his son had lovingly given him.
Edward had referred to him as "the Don" without informing him, a playful way for them to converse about things they did not want others to overhear.
It was a reminder of their special bond and the moments they shared.
Looking ahead, Kwach said with hope:
"We know that Carey will come back because that is what the good book says. We will continue to keep an empty chair around our dining table because we know he will return. Death is very terrifying. When you hear that a neighbour is bereaved, you don’t realise the impact, but the day it enters your gate, it’s like meeting a very dangerous animal. There is no notice that it is coming."
Despite the sadness, Kwach expressed immense pride in the life his son lived.
“As a family, we are very proud that we produced Edward Carey, and that is an achievement. I am sure that for those who are lucky enough to be up there, the will be good company," he concluded.
