Speaking during an interview on Hot 96 FM, Winnie admitted she has developed a thick skin over the years when it comes to criticism directed at her father.

She acknowledged that Raila is a towering political figure and public scrutiny comes with the territory.

"At this point, you just ignore it. If you're talking about my pops, that's regular. Everybody does that and everybody has an opinion about that," she said.

However, she drew the line when it came to her immediate family members, saying she gets deeply unsettled when critics target her mother, sister, and brother, individuals she believes have done nothing to warrant the public jabs.

“I get a little bit sensitive when it comes to my mother, my sister, and my brother as well. That’s where I feel a little bit tired, but there’s nothing that you can do. You just feel tired because you love them," she added.

Winnie pointed out that her family often finds itself in the spotlight merely because of Raila’s influence and legacy, not because they have actively sought public attention.

When asked whether she intends to pursue politics and carry on her father's legacy, Winnie did not mince her words.

She dismissed the idea, describing politics as “exhausting,” and made it clear that it's not in her immediate plans.

“Certainly, I don’t want his legacy to just end like that, but I’m from the generation where we’ve got our own thoughts and desires. For what it’s worth, for now, I have dedicated my life to him. I’m always with him, I take care of him, so I feel like I have played my part," she explained.
