Kenyan actress Mama Kayai has shared a photo of fallen acting legends Papa Shirandula, Prosecutor, and Mzee Ojwang, leaving a section of fans reminiscing about the good old times.

In the photo, Shirandula was in the middle, with Ojwang and Prosecutor on either side.
Kenyans noted how much they miss the legends, with some expressing shock to learn of the passing of the Prosecutor.
Some admitted that they were not aware of the Vioja Mahakamani actor's death.

What happened to Papa Shirandula?
Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula, was a beloved actor.
He rose to fame as the star actor in the popular Citizen TV series Papa Shirandula.
Most argue that his show gave the TV station prominence in the media industry.
Shirandula fell ill and developed breathing complications after a trip from Kakamega county in July 2020.
He tested positive for COVID-19, and he opted for self-isolation at his home. However, his condition worsened.
His brother-in-law later confirmed that he passed away at Karen Hospital.
He died aged 58.

What happened to Mzee Ojwang?
Veteran actor Benson Wanjau, popularly known as Mzee Ojwang, died in 2015.
The actor will forever be remembered as the founding father of Kenya’s silver screen.
Ojwang died at a time when he had achieved a lot of success in the TV industry.
He succumbed to pneumonia while at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
His legacy was carried on by his widow, Augusta Wanjiru, and their two kids.
Most would think Ojwang was a Luo due to his character in Vitimbi, but he was from Mukuruweini in Nyeri county.
He first joined acting through a debut in Darubini, which aired on KBC, then Voice of Kenya.
He then joined Vitimbi in 1985, and he and his on-screen wife, Mama Kayai, wowed their audience with their chemistry.
He also starred in countless commercials.
What happened to Vioja’s Prosecutor?
Gibson Gathu, popularly known for his character as Prosecutor in Vioja Mahakamani, died in December 2022.
He was rushed to Mediheal Hospital in Eldoret after developing complications, but later went into a coma.
The legendary actor had undergone a kidney transplant.
The actor, who had been battling diabetes for over 20 years, had appealed for financial help from the public to undergo a kidney transplant.
He was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2020.
Former president Uhuru Kenyatta led the Prosecutor’s fundraiser with a KSh 2 million donation.
How did Awinja recall Papa Shirandula?
In other news, Awinja recently said Shirandula was buried quickly despite his legendary status.
