Was Riggy G a DJ?

In a candid interview on Oga Obinna Live, hosted at Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence, the politician opened up about his youthful ventures before rising to national leadership.

“I was a DJ for fun and to make some money because I’m also a businessman. Back in the 80s, I bought a disco music system for about KSh 25,000, which was a huge amount then, probably equivalent to KSh 20 million today. I would charge KSh 1,500 per night to DJ. Since the equipment was mine, I wondered why I should hire someone else," he shared.

He added that his disco was mobile and went by the name Chagua Disco, a clever play on his surname.

Gachagua further noted that, having been a DJ back then, his passion for music has stayed with him to this day.

Now that he was ousted, he enjoys spending time at Wamunyoro listening to music with his wife, sometimes even inviting artistes to their residence to perform as they dance.

Gachagua previously disclosed that he keeps photos of William Ruto in his Wamunyoro home as symbols of betrayal.

According to him, Ruto was a frequent guest during the 2022 campaign period, often visiting to rally his backing.

The two posed for several pictures, which Gachagua has since kept as a reminder of the faith he had in Ruto, faith that he feels was later broken when the president backed efforts to impeach him.

He said the photos now serve as a personal lesson on the importance of being cautious with trust.
