What did Kindiki tell Gachagua?
Addressing traders during the Economic Empowerment Programme for Small Scale Traders SACCOs in Kabete on Sunday, May 26, Kindiki did not hold back, dismissing Gachagua’s threats and making it clear that he would not tolerate any form of intimidation.
"Why shouldn’t we defend musicians? I’ll run with that responsibility, those guys talking don’t know me. Hii kazi ya Deputy President nitaipeleka mbio kama gari ya miraa my friend," Kindiki said, visibly agitated.

The DP further accused Gachagua of arrogance, slamming him for trying to lecture leaders, musicians, and the public.
"I’ve seen some people so full of pride going around lecturing us, who do you think you are to lecture us? Are you God? You lecture everyone, not just musicians, even politicians. If you want mutual respect, it goes both ways; you respect us, and we’ll respect you.If you dont respect us my friend, tutakanyangana na wewe (we will clash)," he said," he said.
Kindiki also dismissed claims that he could be intimidated.
"Who are you threatening? I see some people trying to intimidate us. Do I look like someone who can be threatened? Lets have mutual respect," he added.
Turning his attention to the group of musicians who visited him, Kindiki said he is only getting started.
"And those musicians who came were fifty, but I’ll invite five hundred more to Karen so we see what you’ll do. You’re saying you’ve ordered people not to listen to their music, who are you to give such orders?" he posed.

Additionally, the DP insisted he would respond proportionately to any attacks aimed at him or those he associates with.
"I’m a respectful person, but my friend, if you come within shooting range, we will deal with you. Just because we appear calm doesn’t mean we are pushovers. Don’t lecture us, we’re not your children. Go give your lectures elsewhere," he said.
His fiery clapback comes after Gachagua, speaking during a church event, called out Kikuyu artistes who were seen at Kindiki’s residence.
He labelled them traitors, demanded public apologies, and encouraged their fans to unfollow them on social media.
