Rap superstar Khaligraph Jones has shown love for rising hip hop act Cosign Black, recognising his mindblowing performance on The Next Super Star, a new music competition airing on StarTimes’ Rembo TV.

How did Khaligraph endorse Cosign?

The Mazishi hitmaker took to Instagram, reacting with fire emojis in reaction to the 22-year-old rapper’s flawless delivery, sparking online chatter about Cosign’s potential.

The moment has since been dubbed the OG's stamp of approval, a gesture that holds serious weight as he is widely considered the best rapper to come out of Kenya yet.

“I wasn’t expecting the overwhelming praise I got today, and I thank God for this incredible opportunity. This is my chance to step into the spotlight and prove myself. I’m up against talented acts like Andy Saharan, Switney, Rouwa, Snaidah Don Dada, and Jose Jay, but my goal is to elevate Kenyan music to the next level," Cosign said.

However, Cosign’s lyrical grit is not the only thing making headlines from the show.

Recently, 13-year-old Sheila Wanjiru left the judges visibly emotional with her heartfelt performance, prompting a teary response from veteran gospel singer Size 8 Reborn.

"You are deeply blessed and favoured. From now on, I’ll be by your side through this journey, you no longer have to walk it alone," she told the young lass.

The Next Super Star, hosted by Eddie Butita and Amina Abdi Rabar, brings together a star-studded judging panel featuring Size 8 Reborn, King Kaka, and producer Motif the Don.

According to StarTimes Head of PR and Content Syndication, Myke Mwai, the show will run for 13 live episodes and 13 mid-week editions.

“We are dedicated to shaping the future of Kenya’s music industry. This is not merely a talent show, it’s a platform to launch the next wave of artists who will lead our entertainment scene,” Mwai told TUKO.co.ke

Did MC Kajim launch a talent hub?

In other news, Gukena Radio presenter and comedian MC Kajim recently launched the Kajim Talent Hub.

The talent hub is an initiative designed to empower young creatives by helping them turn their artistic skills into income through digital platforms.

The programme aims to discover untapped talent from grassroots communities, offering them mentorship and opportunities to showcase their work on larger stages.

The launch event was graced by high-profile guests, including Dennis Itumbi, Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the President.

The dignitaries in attendance not only endorsed the project but also offered financial support to fuel its mission.

During the event, Kajim reiterated his goal to nurture creative minds and highlighted the arts as a viable avenue for employment among the youth.
