“Yes, that is why I have praised an artiste like Ali Kiba. He lives by morality. You have never seen him pierce his ears or wear a ring,” she remarked.

The lawmaker took the opportunity to criticise artistes who, in her view, display inappropriate behaviour on stage and in public.

She was critical of those who wear trousers but pull down their underwear during performances, questioning the appeal of such acts.

"Some people wear trousers, you sing music, you pull down your underwear. Who wants to see your underwear? Let’s look at those issues, guys, let’s live by morality. Let’s be like Koreans. Let’s stand on morality," Ntara stated.

Her remarks were made during a session discussing the budget for the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, indicating a focus on values and societal standards.

Ali Kiba is widely recognised as one of Tanzania’s most beloved and respected singers, not just locally but across East Africa.
