The head of state charmed attendees at the 62nd celebrations held at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay County, speaking confidently from the podium.
Ruto quoted lyrics from popular Luo musician Prince Indah’s hit song Osiepe, sending the crowd into applause.

"Sisi hatuna maneno. Sisi tunapiga tu kazi. Sisi hatuna wasiwasi," he said in Dholuo, echoing the lyrics about staying focused and undeterred.
The President used the moment to reinforce his administration’s commitment to work despite growing political noise and criticisms.
“Hatuna wasiwasi, hatuna midomo mingi, tunachapa kazi. Ile kazi bila break ndio tunachapa. Tuendelee ama tusiendelee?” Ruto posed, drawing cheers from the audience.
His fluency in Dholuo particularly impressed residents, as it was a moment where the president truly connected with the people.
Over the years, the head of state has become known for his multilingual skills, regularly addressing locals in their dialects.
He has previously spoken in Luhya, Kikuyu, and even Somali during visits to respective regions.
