Media personality Natalie Githinji has penned a heartfelt tribute to her deceased friend Njambi Koikai, who was known as Fayah Mammah.

Njambi, who had long battled endometriosis, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.

Endometriosis is a chronic condition characterised by the growth of tissue similar to the lining of the uterus outside the uterus, causing debilitating pain and various other symptoms.

Tuesday, June 3, 2025, marked exactly a year since her death, but, indeed, she has not been forgotten.

Natalie, who was a close friend of Njambi, remembered her in an emotional post.

The former NRG Radio host revealed she has not healed from the pain of losing her friend, Njambi.

She narrated how her emotions were triggered after a random guy had mentioned Njambi's name in her presence.

"One year down, I still can’t drop that post, 1 year down, still in pain. Friday I was shopping somewhere and Gmoney’s mix was playing and he gave you a shout out…. Then a guy next to me said ‘Jahmby Koikai Fayah mammah’ and I felt as if a sharp sword had passed through my chest….and that’s how I knew I have never healed…. My heart is still in pain," read the post.

The media personality also revealed that Njambi gave her purpose and showed her what hope looks like.

"Still numb, but I celebrate you today, Sis, you gave me purpose and showed me what HOPE looks like. A WARRIOR forever. Continue resting mummy. I love you, Jahmby," she added.

During Homehoyz Radio interview, Natalie revealed her fears and anxieties about living with this chronic condition for several years.

She confessed that she often worries about the possibility of her life being cut short by endometriosis.

According to her, the death of Njambi, who also struggled with the disease, heightened her anxiety about her health.

Natalie encouraged those dating women with endometriosis to be patient and supportive throughout their journey.
