In the rendition, he included the names of those who died in the 2024 protests, honouring them ahead of the Gen Z memorial march.

Eric recalled how, in June 2024, youths were united in fighting against the supposed punitive 2024 Finance Bill.

Part of his lyrics read:

"Wimbo Huu ni wimbo wa historia watu wote naomba mskize kwa makini. Ilikuwa June 25 vijana walishikana kupigania haki yao. Tulipoteza vijana kwa risasi ilhali walikuwa kwa amani wakitembea. Eric Shieni, Choge na Ibrahim wote walipoteza maisha yao nje ya bunge. Vijana walifariki ndio sisi tukombolewe."

He remembered Beasley Kamau, who went missing and was later found dead.

"Vijana walipoteza maisha yao ili tupate uhuru Rex Kadike, Kennedy Onyango, Abdi Kadir. Walijitolea kwa ajili ya uhuru wetu. Tunamkumbuka shujaa Beasley Kamau, aliyepotea kisha baadaye kupatikana amefariki. Tunawaheshimu mashujaa wote majina yenu hayatapotea kamwe. Safari ya kuikomboa Kenya bado inaendelea, kwa heshima yenu na kwa ajili yenu."

He captioned the post:

"Remember their names, celebrate them. One day, we shall rename these streets after them. Every Generation has its heroes."

What was Omondi's response to Ojwang's family?

In other news, the comedian seemingly responded to Albert Ojwang's family, stating that they had lost over KSh 500,000.

Ojwang's family had revealed that a large sum raised by the activist's initiative, Sisi Kwa Sisi, was allegedly withdrawn from Ojwang’s dad's M-Pesa account without his consent.

Eris claimed that he had reached out to the family.
