In the first line of the song, she starts with an appeal, singing:
"Wimbo huu wa kizazi cha vijana, watu wote mnaombwa msikize kwa makini," urging all Kenyans to listen closely to the voices of the youth.
Mishy painfully recites the names of those who died, such as Rex Kanyike, explaining the violent encounters some of them faced, including being assaulted or fatally shot while peacefully protesting.
Additionally, she references the most recent case of alleged police brutality involving X blogger Albert Ojwang.
Ojwang's case sparked public uproar as he died under mysterious circumstances while in police custody.
Mishy then brings to attention the horrifying incident that followed.
During protests demanding justice for Ojwang, a mask hawker named Boniface Kariuki was shot in the head at close range by an officer.
With a heartfelt cry, she sings:
"Wooi wooiii, vijana tunataka polisi wawajibike," demanding accountability from the police.
In the final verses, Mishy pleads with national leaders to pay attention to the voices of the young generation, declaring:
"Tumechoka na machozi na damu."
Her emotional delivery, raw lyrics, and powerful voice have struck a nerve with Kenyans across the country.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, she confirmed that the song was indeed a refix and shared whys he chose to release it.
"This song is meant to honour those who we lost when fighting for what they they believed was right and they did do within the frameworks of the constitution. It is also a way to raise awareness to all the systemic injustices that are plaguing this country, from police brutality to tone deaf leaders," she explained.
