What did Karen Nyamu say after call to attend protests?
On June 25, she shared a photo on her Instagram and professed her love for the country, but some asked her to prove it.
A netizen using the handle @ndologvng commented on Nyamu's post, asking her to attend the June 25 demonstrations so Kenyans can forgive her for her political stand.
"Come for the demonstrations and we will forgive you," he said.
Nyamu responded to his comment and questioned him on why he thought she would ask for forgiveness.
"Is there any forgiveness I have asked you?" she wrote.
The politician has been a staunch supporter of the current administration and has constantly defended President William Ruto.

- The June 25 protests saw Kenyans nationwide coming out to honour those who were shot dead in June 2024 during the anti-government protests.
- According to reports, 60 young Kenyans were shot dead by police, and the 2025 demonstrations were to mark the first anniversary since the violence.
- During the 2025 demos, more than five people were shot dead while many were left with injuries following the running battles with police.

- A female police officer was also left with injuries after a charged group attacked her, leaving her on the floor.
- In Kisumu, two rival groups emerged, both supporting and opposing the demonstrations, which left many in fear.

What was Ruto's reaction to Ojwang's death?
In a separate report, Nyamu recently noted that the president was angry following teacher Albert Ojwang's murder.
Ojwang was arrested in Homa Bay, but he later died in police holding at Nairobi Police Station after being tortured.
The police initially claimed that he had hit his head on the wall before later changing their statement, saying they rushed him to the hospital, where he died.
According to Nyamu, Ruto was irked by the turn of events that had started to cause alarm and unrest among Kenyans.
