Kilifi governor Gideon Mung'aro introduced his wife, Susanne, during his father's funeral.

Mung'aro's father, Mzee Gedion Baya Mung'aro, was buried on Wednesday, June 25, in Kilifi.
The funeral was attended by dignitaries, including President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Susanne Mung'aro recalls how she graduated to wife
Sussane took to the podium to eulogise her beloved father-in-law.
She reflected on her early days with the Mung'aro family and recalled joining the family in 1993.
Susanne shared a funny story of the acid tests she had to pass to prove her worth.
Among these was her ability to cook ugali and prepare milk tea.
She proudly noted, she passed with flying colours.
Susanne Munga'ro's moving tribute to father-in-law
During her tribute, Susanne shared her thoughts and memories of Mzee Mung'aro.
"This is a tribute I wrote for my father-in-law. I remember well a day in 1993 when I passed two crucial acid tests to be welcomed into this wonderful family: preparing milk tea and cooking a decently made ugali. As I was told later, I passed with flying colours. Looking back, I realise I probably didn’t sit as often with my father-in-law, a family figure and pillar, as I would have loved to. But whenever we did, I left richer in knowledge of culture, family, and even politics," she stated.
She continued to reflect on the deep timing of her father-in-law's death.
"On June 15, just two days after my husband’s birthday and on Father's Day, we had to release my father-in-law back to God. I believe there’s something deeply powerful in that timing. It’s a reminder that life is a circle, where pain and joy somehow walk hand in hand."
Susanne found solace in the legacy of Mzee Mung'aro.
"We find solace knowing his legacy lives on in each of us, in my husband's heart, in the hearts of his siblings, and in the eyes of his grandchildren," she continued.
In closing, she shared a passage from her devotion book, dated June 15, the day of Mzee Mung'aro's passing.
The verse was a fitting tribute to the values of love and strength that Mzee had left them with.
"Peter 1:4: 'Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as if God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Amen."
Did William Ruto pick call at Mzee Mung'aro's funeral?
As reported earlier, a photo of Ruto answering a phone call went viral.
Some netizens felt the action was inappropriate for a funeral, while others suggested it may have been a pressing governmental issue.
