A Kenyan TikToker is counting huge losses after her phone and electronics shop was raided and looted during the June 25 memorial protests.

The Wednesday protests started as peaceful demonstrations but later turned to running battles between police officers and protesters.
Some businesses were looted and one TikToker fell a victim.
Taking to TikTok, Alice shared a video showing how dejected she was after her shop was looted.

The outlet is known as Alice Phones and Electronics Shop along Moi Avenue in Nairobi CBD.

Her previous videos showed how well stocked the shop was before it was looted.
She was heartbroken. The clip showed how everything was looted after a break and enter.
Sadly, her shop was the only one broken along the business plaza phase.
She sat at the entrance of the shop, and her pain was evident.
Outside the shop, there were many packages of phone appliances, which showed that the thieves had unwrapped some of the valuables and dumped the packages there.
The clip was accompanied by an emotive song, Imeniumiza Sana by Zabron Gospel Singers.
On the video, she wrote:
"Ooh God! All my efforts I put into this shop."
What did the TikToker say after her shop was looted?
The trader was overwhelmed by emotions and talking about the protests' aftermath, the day she will never forget, she said:
"Some of us things didn't go well; my shop is vacant. Black day it was for me."
Alice also commented on TUKO's story, thanking the number one digital media in Kenya for highlighting her story.

What did Karen Nyamu say about June 25 protests?
Earlier, Senator Karen Nyamu criticised the June 25 protests, claiming they were marred by violence and mob threats.
The nominated senator said the protests lacked purpose, unlike the anti-finance bill protests in 2024.

She was disturbed by the fact that many shops, owned by Kikuyu community members, had been looted during the protests.
Nyamu also warned people against tolerating leaders who have nothing to lose.
What did CS Murkomen say about looting?
Reacting to the unfortunate incidents witnessed during the protests, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen condemned violence and looting.
He argued that the Wednesday, June 25, protests were deliberate and sponsored.
According to Murkomen, the financiers of the protesters wanted to overthrow the government.
He said the financiers are being investigated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
Murkomen blamed protesters and lamented that hundreds of traders in Nairobi have lost livelihoods built through sweat due to lawlessness by some Kenyans.
