Eric Omondi Discloses Late Dad was High Ranking Officer, Shares Rallying Call to Cops

Who was Eric Omondi's father?
In light of the Wednesday, June 25, protests, during which 11 people were killed by police, Eric decided to take matters into his own hands.
On Thursday, he posted a video dressed in a blue outfit resembling a police uniform, disclosing that his late father was a top cop.

"I am the son of a policeman, the late Chief Inspector and OCS Omondi," he said.
Eric disclosed that his father rose through the ranks, starting as a reservist, eventually becoming a chief inspector, and serving as the OCS at Kisumu Central Police Station.
Eric also shared a photo of his late father in uniform.
"You are first a Kenyan before a police officer. Some of you were in high school a few years ago. You are a son, father, mother, and daughter. We will not wait for government agencies to bring police reforms,” he said.
Eric said he was pained seeing a policewoman being attacked by protesters.
"I saw my mother yesterday."
He also recalled the shooting of a street hawker at close range by a cop, noting that it pained him.
He declared Friday Police Friday.

In the caption, he wrote:
“We’ve lost enough lives. Yesterday alone, we lost 11 lives, and over 400 people are nursing bullet wounds. As a son of a police officer, I say enough! We will not wait for police reforms; we will begin it, and we will implement it.”
On the purpose of Police Friday, Eric said:
“I want to call upon all police officers to recommit to protecting life no matter the situation. If you are a police officer, please record a video post and tag me or send me your videos on 0726959111. I will post.”

In other news, Catherine Jepkemboi, popularly known as Minicheps, went viral for a humorous and creative image during the anti-Finance Bill protests memorial.
Known for her miniature-themed photo edits, she portrayed herself pole-vaulting over razor wire placed near Parliament Road to deter protesters.
Dressed in a black jacket and purple pants, she added two anti-riot police officers to the image. One of them seemingly chased her, and the other raised a baton.
The witty post, captioned with laughing emojis, amused many Kenyans online and attracted a wave of reactions praising her creativity.
