Albert Ojwang's father, Mzee Meshack Opiyo, has revealed his son will be laid to rest on Friday, July 4, in Kokwanyo village, Homa Bay county.

What did Albert Ojwang's dad say about son's burial?

Speaking to Radio 47, the grieving father revealed that the 31-year-old blogger and teacher's requiem mass will be held at Ridgeways Baptist, Nairobi.

He shared that his son's body will be flown home and arrive at the village on July 3, a few hours before his burial.

"By July 3, the body will be home already. The burial will take place the following day on July 4," Mzee Meshack said.

Asked about rumours that he wouldn't bury his son until he gets justice, he said:

"Hatua ya haki ni process na iko mikononi mwa serikali. Haki ya Albert ni ya Wakenya na ulimwengu nzima (The road to get justice is a process, and the case is in the hands of the government. Kenyans and the entire world are also demanding justice for Albert)."

Asked if he had received the funds Eric Omondi had been fundraising, he said he got the KSh 500,000 donated by Kenyans.

He said Kenyans donated generously, and after he hit the M-Pesa limit of KSh 500,000, the comedian advised his family (wife and daughter-in-law) to share their numbers publicly. He also shared his other number, and Kenyans donated generously.

He added that he and the other two family members had collected KSh 1.5 million via M-Pesa. He disclosed that the police already have the names of the scammers who swindled him KSh 500,000, and they will be apprehended soon.

Mzee Meshack also revealed that he lost his identification card and wallet while at the Nairobi Funeral Home.
