A series of videos on TikTok has shown how these DJs get their shares from revellers, who do so willingly.

Some bring a bottle of drinks. Some have cash to offer, while others send it via M-Pesa.

It's all done with goodwill. Both the giver and the receiver beam with joy.

He is not the only one who uses this method. Other top DJs in the entertainment industry are also using it.

TUKO.co.ke contacted DJ Manu, who also revealed that he has been using the method of late and it's rewarding.

"This is a smart way for DJs to get tips from patrons who appreciate their work. DJs entertain people, and it is very much in order for clients to appreciate their work. We get paid to perform at clubs, but that is not enough. You need that extra cash to be able to buy your drink after entertaining people. It's done voluntarily out of good hearts. No one is forced," DJ Manu said.
