“I’m not saying it’s right for citizens to attack the police. The police are our helpers. When you’re robbed, you go to the police. When you’re assaulted, you report to the police. They serve both sides," he stated.

Raila Odinga rebukes CS Murkomen for issuing shoot-to-kill orders to police: "Shame on you"
The man of God emphasised that the police service, though under fire, remains a crucial part of maintaining law and order and should not be turned into a target.
Pastor Ng'ang'a's warning to Murkomen
However, Ng’ang’a did not hold back in criticising recent remarks made by Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, who had suggested that police should use their weapons to defend themselves.
"Muombee polisi, we are in a difficult season. It’s just that some instigators are out here saying ‘kill people.’ If someone kills, they won’t go to your mother’s house. When their job is done, they’ll retire and go back to their people. Stop the incitement," he added.
He went further, urging politicians and leaders to stay grounded and not let power intoxicate them.
“You just got that office recently, and you're still young. Relax, some of you behave like you’re the ones who founded the government. It belonged to Moi, and Kenyatta, and it will keep moving. Don’t act like Kenya belongs only to you," he stated firmly.

Has police brutality been on the rise?
His comments come at a time when public trust in law enforcement is once again under scrutiny, following a string of recent cases involving alleged police brutality.
In one incident, a young blogger, Albert Ojwang, reportedly died under unclear circumstances while in police custody.
The protests that followed his death turned chaotic, with a hawker being shot at close range in broad daylight, the moment captured on video and widely circulated online.
During the recent anniversary of the 2025 Gen Z protests, more violence erupted, with both civilians and police sustaining injuries in fresh clashes.

Will Pastor Ng'ang'a lose his church?
In a separate incident, Pastor Ng’ang’a responded sharply after Nairobi City County officials visited his church over claims of an unpaid KSh 10 million land rate debt.
The visit, led by Chief Environment Officer Geoffrey Mosiria on May 18, followed Ng’ang’a’s earlier dismissal of the debt, which sparked backlash from county authorities.
Ng’ang’a denied refusing to pay and clarified that the matter is already in court, which he said explained the friction between him and the county government.
