The celebrated journalist recently gave fans a rare glimpse into his flourishing agribusiness venture in Narok East, where he owns and runs three expansive farms.
Is Stephen Letoo a farmer?
Taking to his Facebook page, Letoo shared three videos showing off his agricultural ventures, swapping his signature sharp suits for gumboots and farmwear.
The clips offered fans a front-row seat to his life beyond the newsroom.
In the first video, Letoo showed off rows of maize, with panoramic views of the Narok countryside in the background. The healthy, green plantation stretched for acres.
The second video showed the journalist walking through his vast wheat farm, carefully inspecting the crop.
The scale of the farm was nothing short of impressive, stretching as far as the eye could see.
"Inspecting my wheat farm today. Making agriculture attractive," he captioned the clip, earning praise from netizens.
However, it was the third video that truly caught everyone’s attention.
Letoo was seen riding on a tractor beside the driver, helping plough another large section of land in preparation for potato planting season.
The transition from the microphone to the farm showed a whole new side of the journalist that many had never seen before.
Should journalists engage in side hustles?
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, veteran journalist and media trainer Faith Ngure lauded Letoo’s agribusiness venture as a smart move.

"In today’s unpredictable media landscape, it’s wise for journalists to diversify their income sources. Running a side business, like Letoo’s farms, not only offers financial security but also helps them stay grounded and connected to real societal issues. It is also a good way to secure a good retirement plan. Agriculture is not the only side hustle one can pursue, but it is a good choice," she said.
