Albert Ojwang's Wife Recalls how They Met, Moves Mourners to Tears with Touching Tribute

Nevnina Onyango Omondi has left Kenyans heartbroken after sharing her short-lived love journey with Albert Ojwang.

Speaking during the 31-year-old teacher and blogger's memorial mass, the young widow painfully eulogised her husband, sharing more details about him.

Dressed in a black long dress, beige kimono and black doll shoes, the grieving widow said:

"He has always told me to be courageous, so I just want to stand strong for the sake of our son, his dad, mum and other people who aren't here because most of them looked up to him. I want these people to look up to me."

Where did Albert Ojwang meet his wife?

Nevnina took a trip down memory lane, sharing details of her first meeting with Ojwang, who later became her soulmate.

"He has been my best friend since way back. I met him in 2021 when he visited Kisumu. We met through a mutual friend from Pwani University. He is called Kochonya. He is the one who gave Albert my number, and he reached out to say hi. We communicated for a while, and our friendship grew, and God blessed us, and we became one."

She disclosed that Ojwang used to encourage her, describing him as her everything and pillar of strength.

Recalling their last conversation, Nevnina narrated how Ojwang asked her to stay strong for their son and assured her of his love. The mother of one professed her love for her beloved husband, vowing to love him forever.

"'I love you, see you soon'. Seeing him soon here and in the mortuary, it really broke me," the teary widow said.

Nevnina recalled how her husband used to encourage her, saying she would try to be strong for his family and care for them.

"I don't want to be weak. I want to be strong. I don't know if he can hear me, but I want him to know I truly love him and I will always do. I will always be here for mum, dad, for G and everyone. I'll always love them the way you did, and thank you for the little time that we shared. I just pray that God gives me that strength and peace of mind that everybody wants," she shared.

What was Albert Ojwang's widow's message to police?

The grieving widow urged the police to treat anyone in their custody with dignity, as their work is to protect citizens, not harm them.

"I wouldn't wish to see anybody, parent, wife or child, going through what we are going through. I'd like to urge them to treat everyone well, even if they are not their relatives. Let them take the right channels and not anyone. May God protect all of us," she said.

What did Ojwang's mother say during blogger's memorial mass?

Eulogising her son, Eucabeth, painfully recalled the day her son was picked up by the police from their home in Homa Bay county.

Ojwang's mother described him as a polite, loving and caring son, noting that he never fought anyone.

The grandmother of one narrated how she had just served Ojwang ugali for lunch, and he was arrested before he could even taste it.

The grieving mother, who is still pained by how she lost her son, urged him to haunt his killers.
