Serah Teshna Recalls Being Scared of Meeting Victor Wanyama’s Mum in Emotional Tribute

Victor Wanyama's wife, Serah Teshna, has shared a touching tribute about her relationship with her mother-in-law, Mildred Ayiemba Osotsi.

The family held a memorial service at The Church of God, South B - Mariakani on Wednesday, July 2, to celebrate the life of the beloved matriarch.

Serah Teshna reminisces about meeting Wanyama's mom

In her tribute, Serah shared that Mildred was also her mother and had known her for nearly 10 years.

The actress said losing her was a huge blow to the family, as she was a loving grandmother who adored her grandkids.

Serah recalled when Victor asked her to meet his mom and how scared, but curious she was to meet the lady who raised a humble man.

"I remember when Victor told me to meet his mother. I was very scared just like any other girl, but I was very curious to meet this wonderful lady who had raised such a strong, humble man with dignity and humility. She took me in as a daughter and loved me," she said.

The thespian also recalled a kind gesture she showed the couple when they bought their first house, while she was also nine months pregnant.

According to Serah, Midlred asked her not to step into the kitchen, stating that she would handle everything.

"Mathe called me, and said 'mam', she used to call me mam, leave the kitchen to me. If you know mathe, then you'd know that she was a very good host. There's no way you would go to her place and not get a meal. So I was heavily pregnant, I think nine months with our firstborn, I was excited because I knew if mathe is the one handling the kitchen she would give us the best and she did deliver," she said.

Serah also disclosed that Mildred would invite the family to her rural home every Christmas to spend time together.

She also noted that she was a prayer warrior, and they would reach out to her any time they faced a difficult situation with her husband.

"Hatujui sasa nani atatuombea. Kupoteza mama si jambo la hivi hivi. Mama ni roho ya familia," she said amidst tears.

Victor Wanyama on his dad and mom rejecting his return

Earlier, while sharing a tribute to his late mother, Victor shared how both his dad and mom turned down his request to return home.

The footballer said it was back in 2007 when he had joined an academy in Belgium, but after two years, he felt homesick.

He called his mum and dad, pleading that he return home, but they both declined, asking him to hold on.

Victor said he was living with a foster family and his mum promised to pray for him, urging him to be strong.
