Former Nairobi county governor Mike Sonko has once again flaunted his deep pockets, this time during a grand double wedding in Tanzania.

The flamboyant politician, known for his philanthropic deeds and love for the finer things in life, was in full celebratory mode as he attended the wedding of his close associate’s kids.

The event, hosted by his long-time friend Mzee Chief Kiumbe, was nothing short of a spectacle, a glamorous affair filled with opulence, elegance, and exclusivity.

In videos shared by Tanzanian MC Luvanda, Sonko was seen making merry at the colourful event as Ally B & Septuu and Ally & Amney tied the knot.

Both couples stepped out in near matching outfits that screamed loyalty.

The decor oozed luxury, with extravagant floral arrangements, plush furniture, and a soft glow of romantic lighting, all underscored by soothing romantic rhumba music in the background.

Guests arrived dressed to the nines, matching the wedding’s upscale tone.

Sonko himself stood out in a sharply tailored tuxedo with a stylish half-piece coat that exuded class.

The event was also graced by top Tanzanian musicians and celebrities.

However, it was during the gifting session that the former governor truly stole the spotlight.

With the crowd watching in awe, Sonko pulled out wads of hundred-dollar bills and began counting them one by one, eventually showering the two newly wed couples with a total of $900 (KSh 116,280) .

How did Mike Sonko help Boniface Kariuki's family?

In another story, Sonko extended a helping hand to the family of Boniface Kariuki, the hawker who was shot in the head by police during the protests.

The politician offered to cover part of the burial expenses, including providing his luxury hearse, a medical team, a white casket, and a suit for Kariuki.

He also donated KSh 150,000 to cater for food during the funeral.

Kariuki passed away just hours after being declared brain dead, leaving his family questioning the actual timeline of his death.
