However, just days after her sister passed away, she travelled upcountry for the funeral, only to return to another unexpected kind of mourning, this time, for her relationship.
According to Senjee, her lover was a partyholic who frequently went out clubbing without her. She now sees that as a red flag she ignored.
On the day of her sister's funeral, he was nowhere to be seen, choosing instead to go partying while she was burying her sibling.
How many times was Senjee cheated on?
After the burial, Senjee travelled back to the city. While charging her phone near the bed, she noticed something unusual.
"I saw a gold wrapping. That was not Indomie packaging. Being a married couple, we never used protection because we obviously wanted children," she said.
She then recalled that when they stopped dating and got into 'marriage', they had a stash of 42 condoms, unused and stored away.
“I remembered I wanted to give them to my brother since he wasn’t married. But when I saw the wrapping I took them and counted the, I realised they were 36. Alipiga mechi mara sita,” she revealed painfully.
She took a photo and sent it to her partner, who chose to remain silent and ignored the accusations.
“Nilikuwa nalia, nilipiga nduru. He had betrayed me. I was playing it all out in my head. I was thinking, ‘Mimi nimeanza kuonja chumvi, akatafuta sukari," she lamented.
Senje admitted she returned to her parents' home for a while but later forgave him, and they reconciled.

How did Senjee's 'marriage' end?
However, peace was short-lived as one day, she got hold of his phone and discovered texts from another woman who wanted to rekindle things with him, proving that history was repeating itself.
She forgave him once again, but he had other plans. One day, she recalled him treating her like a queen, serving her breakfast in bed, only to break up with her shortly after.
“He told me he felt like he was wasting my time and wasn’t ready for marriage. He said, ‘I don’t deserve you.’ Aliniambia anataka kupiga sherehe,” she shared.
However, he showed remorse by helping her secure a new house and paying her rent for three months.
For Senjee, the most painful part was the shame she felt for bringing a second failed 'marriage' back to her family.
The series of traumatic events eventually pushed her into depression, and at her lowest point, she attempted to take her own life, until a Good Samaritan stepped in and helped her recover.
