Kathy Kiuna Discloses Hubby Left Her with KSh 196m Bank Debt: "We Took Loan Together"

Bishop Kathy Kiuna has revealed that she and her late husband Allan Kiuna took a KSh 250 million loan to acquire Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) Parklands.

Kathy revealed that when Kiuna passed away, he asked her not to stress about the loan they had taken to start their church.
In his words, everything had already been taken care of.

The two had taken the KSh 250 million loan 15 years ago to acquire the church and had paid KSh 430 million back, perhaps considering the interest amount.

Kathy was, therefore, surprised to learn that they still had an outstanding debt of KSh 196 million despite paying KSh 430 million over the years.
"I am standing to declare Jubilee Christian Church is debt-free. When my husband went to be with the Lord, he began to tell me something powerful. He said, honey, God has taken over. It is going to be very easy. I did not know it was a bye from him. 15 years before he went to be with the Lord, we had taken a loan of KSh 250 million in order to buy this place. For 15 years, we were paying that loan. I asked for the balance, and the bank told me it is KSh 196 million. The math was not mathing. I was like, what? Even if your math is in what language, after paying KSh 430 million, after borrowing KSh 250 million," she said.
She revealed that three weeks after her husband's passing, the bank called and notified her that they had waived KSh 120 million.

How much did Kathy pay the bank?
They were left with KSh 74 million to pay off, and she called one of the church members, an apostle, who helped rally his friends to donate.
"Bishop had said God had taken over. Three weeks after he went to be with the Lord, the bank called me and they tell me you owe KSh 196 million, but we have decided to reduce it by KSh 120 million. The balance was KSh 74 million. Thank God for the apostle because he was the leader, the MC. I want to let you know that in one hour, we will have finished with the 74 million. It was a wrap that everyone had pledged," she said.
Kathy was stunned after the apostle's friends pulled off KSh 74 million within an hour.
She also disclosed that they had received the title deed.
"We had given up our home so that we could pay our debt," she said.
How many years were Bishop Allan and Kathy Kiuna married?
The lovebirds had been married for 30 years at the time Bishop Allan went to be with the Lord.
Kathy and Allan frequently shared stories of their perfect marriage, celebrating each other with sweet messages.
During her husband's first memorial, a TBT clip of Bishop Allan and Kathy at the Churchill Show was replayed. The mother of three recalled how she met her man, sharing details of their sweet dating days before married.
"I met him in town while going to minister at Charter Hall in CBD, and he was on a call when he saw me, though they had seen each other in church numerous times, but never spoke. He stopped me and asked me out for a lunch date. I said no, but deep inside I was telling God, 'keep him for me'."
Bishop Allan said he didn't lose hope, and he invited her out again for a second time, and she said yes.
"We went to Utalii Hotel along Thika Road. It was the hottest joint during that time," he said.
During her hubby's memorial mass at FEM church in Karen on July 15, 2024, Kathy revealed Teresia Wairimu, their spiritual mother, approved of her relationship with Bishop Allan.
Kathy thanked her for accepting her as her 'son's' wife and not rejecting her as she had done to other women he introduced to her.

In other news, Kathy and her kids, Jeremy and Vanessa, visited Kiuna's gravesite.
It was an emotional moment when they placed flowers on his grave.
