In addition to her regular clinic visits, Serah revealed that she received the D Tap vaccine, which protects both the mother and unborn baby from diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis, completely free of charge.
She also underwent a glucose test, commonly used to check for gestational diabetes, which was offered at no cost.
As part of her routine care, she had a cervical screening, another critical procedure in safeguarding maternal health, and again, she was not required to pay for it.
Throughout her pregnancy, Serah was also subjected to four separate blood tests, all of which were fully covered.
Furthermore, she received all required ultrasounds, including early and later stage scans, entirely for free.
The only expense she mentioned incurring during the entire process was for parking at the hospital, which cost her 25 Canadian dollars [approximately KSh 2,300].
“How much I paid throughout my pregnancy in Canada: 12 prenatal appointments = 0. D Tap Vaccine = Free. Glucose Test = Free. Cervical screening = Free. 4 Blood Tests = Free. Ultrasounds = Free. Parking = $25. I hope this helps. Please read the caption,” Serah posted.
