The post came shortly after she shared another image with her daughter, both adorned in hijabs and henna, hinting at the spiritual shift before confirming it.
“Alhamdulillah. We’ve taken our Shahada. This is the beginning of the most beautiful chapter yet,” she wrote.
Kezz went on to offer insight into her decision, writing:
“My walk with God didn’t begin in church, and it didn’t end there. I’ve been walking a spiritual journey for years, asking hard questions, loving Jesus, studying faiths, and letting God speak in unexpected places. My choice to follow the Islamic path isn’t sudden, it’s sacred. It’s honest. It’s mine. I honor where I’ve been, and I honor where I’m going. Faith isn’t a box. It’s a calling. And I still answer.”
Her revelation sparked a frenzy on social media, with netizens flooding her comment section to share mixed reactions.
Some congratulated her for following her heart, while others expressed surprise at the drastic shift in her spiritual path.

Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, Reverend Sarah Muli, a theologian and religious studies lecturer, shared her professional perspective on DJ Kezz’s spiritual transition from Christianity to Islam.
Muli acknowledged that spiritual evolution is a deeply human experience, often shaped by personal trials, intellectual curiosity, and cultural exposure.
"Faith transitions, though controversial in public figures, are rooted in deep inner conviction. DJ Kezz's move is not a betrayal of her past, but a continuation of her spiritual search. Her statement reflects maturity, recognising that God’s voice can echo beyond denominational walls. We should allow grace and understanding to accompany her on this path," she told TUKO.co.ke.
