Yes, you read that right, a meal former Kenya National Rugby Team star-turned-celebrity-chef Dennis Ombachi whipped up, leaving Kenyans speechless online.
The Roaming Chef, as he is famously known on social media, is no stranger to dishing out mouthwatering delicacies.
However, this time, he took things to a whole new level with a black chicken that one netizen claimed looked “poisonous.”
Is there black chicken?
The food content creator introduced his fans to the Ayam Cemani, a rare and exotic Indonesian breed of chicken known for its pitch-black appearance, from the feathers and skin to even the bones and meat.

In his usual step-by-step format, Ombachi demonstrated the meticulous process of preparing the delicacy.
He began by burning off the fine feathers using a blue flame before stuffing the chicken with rosemary, garlic, and a generous squeeze of lemon juice.
From there, he grilled the bird while frequently dousing it with water to keep it moist, then transferred it into an oven smoker.
He finished off the masterpiece by brushing it with a blend of 'chef’s secret juices' and plating it alongside crisp ugali and a generous serving of kachumbari.
Does black chicken taste different?
As jaw-dropping as the sight was, the big question lingered: Does black chicken actually taste good?
In a follow-up video, Ombachi invited popular TikToker Dylan Page to try the dark delicacy.
Dylan eagerly joined the cooking process and took the first bite that thousands were waiting for.
“It tastes really good. It might actually be better than regular chicken. Just close your eyes and it tastes like chicken. Roaming Chef, you’re getting a ten!” Dylan declared while devouring the chicken.
