What were Ruto's orders against goons?
Gachagua, while there, urged Gen Zs to stop protests after the shoot-to-disable orders.
President William Ruto had asked the police to immobilise goons vandalising people's businesses during protests.
Gachagua said:
"I ask the Gen Zs to stop the protests because if they go to the streets, there are orders to kill them. You have made your point. Don't mistake it for cowardice—it's just being strategic. A good soldier must live to fight another day. We need you."

Njugush, upon learning of Gachagua's remarks, questioned why Gachagua thought he could advise the young people.
He sarcastically questioned whether the politician believed he was part of Gen Z. The comedian wrote:
"Huyu naye nani alimwambia tuko kimoja? (Who told this one that we’re on the same side?)"
Netizens react to Njugush's response to Gachagua
Here is what they had to say:
fuad.abdirashid:
"When we rise for justice, he doesn’t see the people—he sees an opportunity. Our pain is his platform. Our protests are his publicity. But we are not a stepping stone for his ambition, In 2027, we must reject *performative allies* who exploit our struggle. True leaders stand *with* us, not *over* us. He doesn’t want to fix the system—he wants to *use* it for himself. We fight for change. He fights for power."
Nick Koech Tinget:
"The commander has finally recalled his troops after a successful mission of massive destruction of properties."
Kaka Sam:
"Who told you that you are the leader of GenZ... GenZ are in their own."
@makongorong
"He's talking to Gen Z wewe Si Gen Z that's a great advice many people lost their lives not any more bana. The current problem with Kenya is because people started listening to and voting in content creators like you instead of ideas."
Did Samidoh and Gachagua reunite?
In other news, Mugithi musician Samidoh reunited with Gachagua in the US.
The musician has been having successful concerts amidst a pending arrest warrant in Kenya for allegedly absconding from his duties as a police officer.
That has not stopped Samidoh from planning a homecoming slated for July 26.
When he and Gachagua reunited, they shared a warm hug that had their fans on social media excited.
The politician and the musician are long-time friends, and at one point, Gachagua revealed that he had advised Samidoh to quit the service since he earns well.
