How did Mrisho Mpoto's wife die?
Speaking in an interview with Rich Media, the legendary singer revealed that his wife had had high blood pressure for five years and had been undergoing treatment.
Mrisho said they had been taking care of adopted children, and when one of them revealed she was about to get married, his wife started the preparations.
"She was busy preparing for our daughter's wedding. She had gone to buy wedding clothes when she called to inform me that her pressure was high and she was not okay. I picked her and rushed her to hospital and after the pressure stabilised, we returned home."
Before she slept, the prayerful woman asked her husband to call their sheikh so that he could pray for her.
Mrisho said the religious leader didn't pick up his calls, and they started having conversations about their relationship.
"She asked me about the last time we took a shower together, and we started making fun of that. Later, she asked me to bathe her, but I was hesitant. At 2 am, I bathed her and we returned to bed. While there, she asked me to hug her and we dozed off until morning," he recalled.

Mrisho said on Tuesday, July 15, his wife woke up, but her pressure was not normal, and they went to hospital.
"Her pressure was then stabilised, and while still at the hospital, she asked to use the washroom but never returned. She fell down and died. I was told she died of a heart attack," he recalled.
Mrisho said that while on the way to the hospital, his wife kept telling him that she wouldn't return home. What hurt him most is that their sheikh never made it to meet his wife.
"What hurts me most is when she asked me to bathe her and hug her whole night... she was the most precious woman I ever had," he said.
He described his wife as his best friend, confidant, cheerleader, great and supportive partner, saying words couldn't express the kind of person she was.
He also revealed that his wife died just when they were about to move into their new palatial home. He recalled how his wife pushed him to build a house, where they would spend the rest of their lives, and was heartbroken that she would never live in it.
The singer's wife will be buried today on Wednesday, July 16, at a public cemetery in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
