Chira’s grandmother, Esther Njeri, appeared visibly distressed during a recent TikTok live session alongside a group of TikTokers and friends.

They revealed the extent of the damage done to Chira’s final resting place, panning the camera to show a demolished headstone, one that had once borne the TikToker’s picture.

Esther was heartbroken as she addressed the painful scene, struggling to understand why anyone would destroy her grandson’s grave more than a year after his burial.

The disturbing revelation quickly triggered a storm of emotions online, with netizens expressing disbelief, sadness, and outrage as they speculated who could be behind such a cruel act.

Who vandalised Brian Chira's grave?

TUKO.co.ke reached out to TikToker Manzi wa Mombasa, who has been staying with Esther since the incident, for more insight.

According to the TikToker, the attack on the grave left Esther traumatised and haunted by questions.

Manzi explained that Esther believes a close family member may be responsible.

Specifically, she suspects one of Chira’s aunts, who had previously opposed the idea of putting Chira’s picture on the headstone, might have had a hand in the vandalism.

“When we were constructing the grave, Shosh told us later that one relative had warned her not to include Chira’s photo. But she didn’t tell us in time, so we added it anyway, thinking it was just a harmless tribute,” Manzi explained.

She continued:

“Huyo mtu alisema tukiweka hiyo picha hapo inamtokea,” she added, suggesting the relative had superstitious concerns about the grave photo.

While the family admits they do not have concrete evidence to tie the relative to the act, they say the opposition to the photo offers reasonable suspicion.

Manzi also noted that Chira was buried on family land, not where his grandmother lives, further raising questions about who could have accessed the grave and committed the act unnoticed.

Despite the emotional toll, Esther and her supporters are determined to restore Chira’s grave and honour his memory.

“We now want to replace the picture and fix the grave,” Manzi said.

She added that the family welcomes any support from well-wishers willing to help, but they are okay for the most part.

“They can support us to ensure the grave is renovated and looks good again.”

What did TikTokers warn Chira's granny against?

In the past, Esther expressed a desire to move out of the house that had been built for her by TikTokers and well-wishers.

She cited concerns about insecurity in the area and hinted at her intention to sell the house.

Her remarks sparked backlash from TikToker Peter Kioi, who warned her not to go through with the sale.

He also issued a warning to Obidan Dela and any other TikToker considering launching a fundraiser on her behalf, reminding them that the house was a tribute to Chira’s memory.
