Tanzanian musician Mrisho Mpoto fainted after viewing the body of his late wife ahead of her burial.

Mpoto and his wife had been married for 26 years and were parents to two children.

The well-known figure in Bongo music, with collaborations alongside Diamond Platnumz, revealed that his wife had lived with high blood pressure for five years and was undergoing treatment.

How did Mrisho Mpoto’s wife die?

According to Mpoto, she had been actively preparing for the wedding of one of their adopted daughters when she began feeling unwell.

He took her to the hospital, where her condition appeared to improve. After returning home, they shared an emotional evening filled with personal conversations and quiet moments. Later that night, she asked for prayers and physical affection before they slept.

The following day, she felt unwell again and returned to the hospital. It was there, while attempting to use the washroom, that she collapsed.

Medical staff confirmed she had died, reportedly due to a heart attack. Mpoto said she had expressed premonitions about not returning home, making her sudden death even more difficult to process. He described her as a strong, supportive partner and his closest friend.

Footage captured on Wednesday, July 16, before the burial showed the devastated artiste fainting after being overwhelmed with grief.

Footage captured at the burial showed numerous men surrounding Mpoto, fanning him.

"He is completely out of energy," one of them said.

In the background, mourners could be heard saying a prayer.

They loosened his shirt while fanning him.

Mpoto seemed to be semi-conscious, but his eyes were closed.

Fans condoled with the grieving singer, while others slammed him for his political stand.

Closer home, a friend of the late comedian KK Mwenyewe shared what is believed to be their final photo together.

In the image, content creator Jay Kahiu sits on a low wall draped with a Maasai shuka, beside KK, who appears bundled in a hoodie, denim jacket, and socks with open shoes, suggesting chilly weather.

Kahiu revealed the picture was taken during a trip, prompting bittersweet memories.

While many Kenyans sent condolences, some fans expressed concern over KK’s noticeably pale appearance and changed look, hinting that he may have been unwell.
